Could someone please look up an obit for: Mary Jane Isnogle that died 11 March 1905 in Allen Co., Ohio Thank you,

Does anyone on the list have information on Fergusons, with the spelling "Firguson"? The name change occurred as a result of a rift in the family, not because of a misspelling. The family lived in Cairo in the late 1800s, and some ofthem moved to Lima at the turn of the century. My GG grandmother (Cyrene Firguson) died in Lima in 1910, at the age of 92. Her death certificate revealed that she was buried in West Cairo Cemetery, but a volunteer checked there for me, and cannot find her grave. She was living at the time with her son William Jacob Firguson, and his wife Elizabeth (Gardner). Cyrene's husband John was a physician when they lived in Cairo. He probably died between 1894 and 1900, but due to lack of an exact date, I have been unable to find anything about his death. This has been my "brick wall" since 1999, and any help would be greatly appreciated! Linda Ferguson Martis Cleveland, OH

From the info in it looks like he married second. I don't think the wife Mabel listed in the obit is Carrie M. Brown. I did receive the obit for the Carrie M Ramsey from Hancock co. Library, but it wasn't Byron's wife Carrie. So now, I don't know what happened with her. Possibly they divorced, she remarried. I was hoping there was some mention of Byron's sons he had with Carrie, Paul & Lewis/Louis. I'll start over with info of his step children and see if anything comes up. Thank you again, Chris

Johan Jacob Allis emigrated from Europe landing in Philadelphia in 1749. Both Abraham & brother Jacob were members of the PA Militia during the Rev. War. Abraham & Jacob m. the Joel sisters in Lancaster Co., PA about 1780 and moved to the Back Creek valley of Berkeley Co., VA where Henry Joel d. 1779 leaving the sisters his 293 acre plantation. About 1806 Abraham & Katharine sold their interest in the VA plantation to Jacob and moved to Clinton Co., OH where Abraham & Katharine are buried. I am not sure this is the John Ellis you seek (there are severeal), however, this should help you search for the Ellis family. You may be able to obtain a copy of the Ellis Family, by Katharine S. Foos published in 1900 by U.B. Publishing House, Dayton, OH, through interlibrary loan or From the Library of Congress I think I have also seen it available through genealogical book sellers. You can check the Ellis GenForum and find my messages, click on my name and scroll down to the Ellis family. Read an interesting story about Abraham "Bullet Hole" Ellis (Abraham's grandson) by entering his name on your search line. I visited the grave of Nancy Faris (Ellis)Reed in July 2006, sister of Capt.
