Debbie, it will be recorded with the county or health Dept.(depending on the year) Hi. I wonder if anyone knows if a person died in the local poorhouse, where the death record would be? Would it be with the poorhouse records or recorded with the county? Thank you. Debbie

Ryan, I went through your pictures this morning, they all came through OK. Great job!, hope I can do something with mine someday. I am a Ridenour from the Perry Co., Hocking Co., OH Ridenour's. Hello there, I was given a box of photographs that was pulled from an attic a few years ago. The family reunion is of the descendants of William Michael. He was a farmer in Paulding, Putnam and Allen Counties and his descendants have migrated from the area and into other counties in Ohio and into Indiana, Michigan and other states. I scanned in the box of 157 pictures last night and put them on one of my other family pages. A couple of the photos I know while many others have no identifying information at all. Some photos I was able to put an individual name or photo studio as it appeared or was written on the photo. Feel free to check out the photos. If you can identify anything please let me know so I can pass on to our family reunion. There are some names that are prominent that I believe these people relate to and those names are Michael, Prowant, Ridenour, Zickefoose and Andrews. Would Lima have death certificates for Oct 1906 for deaths that happened in Lima? Tootsie Shoemaker Lord, keep your arm around my shoulder and Your hand over my mouth.

He was married 3 times. I didn't find his first name as John anywhere. Maybe you saw the 1850 census where Amy is living with her parents and her 2nd husband, John Page (they got married 11 Apr 1850, so were married at the time of the census), lives with them with 2 boys that I assume are his sons. I didn't find an Alden Smith in the 1850 census index. There are a couple of Spencer Smiths, but they don't have Alden and Joseph living with them.
Hello everyone. I ran across this the other day and thought it looked interesting. Someone has the 1890 Civil War census available for Allen county. Here is the link if you want to check it out: http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&ih=007&sspagename=STRK%3AMESE%3AIT&viewitem=&item=170071375300&rd=1&rd=1 There is also an Allen county directory from 1916 that is available: http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&ih=007&sspagename=STRK%3AMESE%3AIT&viewitem=&item=170064887006&rd=1&rd=1 Finally, if you need death certificates, this person is offering to look some up: http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&ih=007&sspagename=STRK%3AMESE%3AIT&viewitem=&item=170067374466&rd=1&rd=1 I hope this helps someone! Dear Linda, While searching for info on my Watts family, I came across a site with Biographical sketches of people from Ross Co., Ohio. It includes one on the Fergusen Family (#470-472). The website is http://www.heritagepursuit.com/Ross/RossBio468.htm If you don't have this site, then perhaps it may be of some help. Good luck. It is odd her sons weren't living with her in the 1850 census, and she is under her maiden name. Esp when they are living with her and second husband in the 1860 census, Union co., Allen Twp. Wonder who the boys lived with in 1850? John Alden Smith is on a world tree, with his birth listed as Knox co. Ohio, mother Amy Andrews, father Spencer E. Smith. Source is listed as his death certificate. I'll see if I can find anything in the Union co. records.
I'm trying to locate an obit for C. Dale Ross who died April 9, 2001. Can anyone look this up? Thank you Karin King

I could use some help with someone in Union county. Spencer E. Smith married Amy Andrews on 12 Jun 1842 in Union county. They had 2 sons (that I know of), Alden (b May 1843) and Joseph (b about 1846). Either they were divorced or Spencer died - Amy is living with her parents in the 1850 census (without Alden and Joseph). She then remarried and had more children. I don't know anything more about Spencer. Is there anything you can find on him? Thanks for YOUR help.

I am a volunteer for the Allen County Genealogy Society and can do look-ups for anyone. When I do the look-ups, I do them in the order received and do Society members' requests first. We are extremely short on volunteers so please be patient if it takes awhile for me to reply. I am only there one or two days a month and do as many as I can during the time I'm there. Thanks.
