Marilyn, The oldest obit at this time I have is of a Nancy Cole. Mother of John F. Cole. This obit states she had several children. It is dated Oct 29, 1884. Her husband's name is not listed but says he died 2 yrs. earlier. the burial place also is not listed. Could this be one of your Cole's? Hi Listers, I have put together at this time 9 books of obituaries from various years. These books have been indexed by name. I am willing to do free look-ups, scanning the obituary or death notice. My 3xgreat-grandfather died in 1881 in the Highland County Poorhouse. The records wound up in the Highland County Historical Society. They have limited hours (open only 4 hours on Friday) so they never answered any of my e-mails. I posted a query to the Highland County Ohio list and fortunately someone on the society's board of directors found the record for me. Hope this helps, and good luck to you! Shari in Ohio
