You will be able to send for his death certificate as well. Good luck.

I am looking for obits for George Battels/Battel and his wife, Louisa (Snider) Battels/Battel. Louisa was born in 1846 in Fairfield Co., OH. I believe she died before 1900 since the 1900 census shows George as a widow. George was born in May 1846. I have no further information on either George or Louisa. I am also looking for Louisa's sister, Mary M (Snider) Gallant. Mary was born about 1855 and married C Jandson Gallant. I know they had a child (George W who married Flora) that was living in Ottawa Twp, Allen Co., OH. I have no further information on Mary or C Jandson. If anyone can give me additional information on either one of these families I would appreciate it. Thanks for your help...Mary Jo

The Allen County Genealogy society, Allen County Museum Library and Lima Public Library all have obits and can look them up for you. Also, Linda Dietz does obit look up by e-mail. She is on this list if you want to contact her and would probably see your post if you put Linda D.-obit request as your subject. I have re-opened my Allen County Cemetery Research Site.. It is set up a little different from before. Each Township Cemetery page will have an Index of the burials, and a link to request additional information. You will need to fill out a short request form, which when submitted will e-mail this request to a ACGS volunteer who will return an e-mail with your requested information. The website address is still the same: http://www.rootsweb.com/~ohalncem/cemetery.html Please feel free to e-mail me, telling me how the site is working out.. You will notice some partial index listings, which I will be working toward posting when time permits. Finally, there is also a link (to the left) on each page that will forward you to the Allen County Genealogical Society's Publications page. Here you can order the Township Cemetery Books which will have the Burial Information that goes with these Indexes. Thanks for your patience and kind words in backing up this site. Mark
The last message I saw was that Mark was going to leave his site up, but I see its gone. What else took place. Sue
Mark, You will be greatly missed! Many of us went to your site for information as we were not able, for one reason or another, to get to the Museum where it was kept, or to the actual cemetery, etc. I for one enjoyed everything you had on your webpage. It was professional and easy for us amateurs to access. Good luck and know that you have helped us all many times. A rose for you A thorn for copywriter laws Linda Loukos
