Linda, Thank you so much! The obit answered more than one question for me - even giving my greatgrandfather's death year. You are doing such a great service for list members. Thanks again, Sue Chism
how about Cairo East side, Cairo West Side, Campbell, and others that I can't think of right now. John Cheney Bielstein
I lived on Mayberry Road, then called Jennings/Mayberry Rd, from 1945 thru 1953. There was never a Monroe City only a Monroe Twp. I suspect that some folks got to calling Monroe and others just attached the City to it not having lived around there. I knew Mayberry Rd very well as that was the road that we took whenever we went to Columbus Gtove, John Cheney Bielstein
Campbell Cemetery is on Mayberry Road approx five miles North of US Route 30 on the East side of Mayberry road. It is located in Monroe Township. Cairo is the major town in Monroe Township and it is located at the intersection of US 30 and State Highway 65. Columbus Grove is located in Putnam County just on the North side of Allen County on Ohio Route 65. John Cheney Bielstein
Anyone know a cemetery in Monroe Twp? John, Was fine-tuning some of my Protsmans, and saw your email re: cems, so was reminded that you are a Snyder relative. For the 1920 census, I have John Protsman living with William Crabb and Louella Protsman, as father-in-law. In 1930, the Crabbs don't have John, since he died in '21, but do have Anna Protsman with them as mother-in-law. So, where was she in 1920 ?? Curious.... BTW, I've traced that Protsman line back to eastern Ohio - Wayne Co - via a birthplace for one of Hiram's sons - Alonzo. LeRoy Wheeler, Maryland
Columbus Grove is in Putnam County. I've never heard of a Monroe City. Is Campbell Cemetery in Allen County? Is Columbus Grove in Allen County? And do you have a Monroe City in Allen county? Thanks Joyce in NY
We have a few going beck to the 1850's. We have all the newspapers from the 1890's and 1900's on microfilm. Approximate death dates would be needed because they are not indexed. When e-mailing me, please use my e-mail address. This list is not part of the genealogy society. I'm only a list member like you.
