Two Presbyterian churches are in the Lima area - Market Street PC at 1100 W Market St, Lima OH 45805, ph 419-229-9040; and Shawnee at 2223 Shawnee Rd, Lima OH 45805, ph 419-229-4136. I've no idea who has the records. You might check with the presbyterian church department of history at: http://www.history.pcusa.org/index.html

Mrs. F. J. Banta was doing this. It tells that Frank Banta had started the company 54 years earlier, when he was 18 and his entire stock at the time was five watermelons. Sounds like he was a pretty enterprising kid! Happy hunting!

    1. Obit. of Ruhama SAWMILLER WAGONER, 1911
    2. This is a Message Board Post that is gatewayed to this mailing list. Surnames: SAWMILLER, WAGONER, SUTTON Classification: Obituary Message Board URL: http://boards.ancestry.com/mbexec/msg/rw/ZYB.2ACI/664 Message Board Post: OBITUARY OF MRS. WAGONER Ruhama, daughter of Jacob and Mary Sawmiller, was born in Allen county, Ohio, August 19, 1844. She grew to womanhood in the vicinity of Zion M. E. church, of which she has been a member, availing herself of such educational and religious advantages as her environment afforded. She was united in marriage with Mr. Joseph Wagoner March 9, 1865, and located in vicinity of Zion. Nine children were born to them, seven of whom have preceded her to the spirit land. About twelve years ago they moved to Spencerville, Ohio, where they have since resided. On Thursday, April 27, of last week, while preparing a flower bed, she said that she did not suppose it would do her any good but would delight others. She retired about 9:00 p. m., but soon informed her husband that her heart was weak. Medical help was hastily summoned. For her son, Charles A., who had not yet returned to town, she left the message, "Meet me in Heaven." To her granddaughter and husband she said "The Gates will open wide for you too," and she soon entered the haven of rest. Her 66 year, 8 months and 8 days of earthly life ended April 27. She is survived by her bereft husband, daughter, Mrs. Myrtle Sutton of Peru, Ind., son, Charles A., her brothers, Isaac, Sylvester and John Sawmiller, fifteen grandchildren, seven great grandchildren, and many other relatives and friends who mourn her departure. Funeral service was held Saturday afternoon at Allentown by the pastor of Elida M. E. church, and remains were interred in Allentown cemetery. CARD OF THANKS. We thank all of our friends and neighbors for their many acts of kindness and words of sympathy during our late sad bereavement in the loss of our beloved wife and mother. Joseph Wagoner and Children I would very much like to be in contact with any of Ruhama Sawmiller and Joseph Wagoner's descendants. Thanks! Susan

I have tried to get the papers from probate court, but they say they do not have them. This was published in the Allen County "Democrat". I would very much like a copy of the article as that is as close to a death date for my GG Grandfather as I can get. I see the paper for that year is not on file for inter library loan. Surnames: HEWETT Classification: Query Message Board URL: http://boards.ancestry.com/mbexec/msg/rw/ZYB.2ACI/662 Message Board Post: Please send email to [email protected] I am looking for any information for my uncle, Ulysses (Buster) Hewett. From what I have uncovered in newspaper articles (Akron Beacon Journal), he was a prisoner at Mansfield Correctional facility sometime between 1927-1934 or 35. From hearsay, there are 2 stories: he was transferred to the hospital wing at Lima State Hospital due to a rupture of his appendix or a bout with TB. He died as a result of one of those. I know that my grandparents were not financially able to claim the body or have it shipped home. Any help or leads would be deeply appreciated. Buster would've been 21 years old in 1930. He would've been listed as Negro. His parents' names were Tolbert and Ethel Hewett . I believe they lived at 13 E. Glenwood Ave. in Akron Ohio. This is all the information that I have. I know this is a long shot, but if you can help me, my family would appreciate it. Email: [email protected] Name: Anita Hewett-Williams
