    3. Lima News, Oct 23, 1918 George M. TAYLOR, 80 years of age, died at his home, 510 west Vine street today after a two weeks' illness with a complication of diseases. The deceased served in the Civil war and has been a resident of Lima for 15 years. He leaves a widow, two daughters, Mrs. Elizabeth BERRY of Lima, and Mrs. Nellie CLARK, Van Wert county; two son, John TAYLOR, Lima, and Tom TAYLOR, Spencerville; 15 grandchildren and 15 great-grandchildren. No funeral arrangements have been made. Card of Thanks We wish to extend our many thanks and deepest gratitude to all our friends and neighbors for their many deeds and kindness shown us through the death of our beloved father, also undertaker LONG( and BOWERSOCK for their kindness and efficient service, for the many floral offerings, also the Rev. Mr. FOLTZ for his consoling words. Mr. M.E. Williams and Wife Sarah Frances BAKER, 82 years of age died Tuesday at the home of Mrs. G.W. WIEGEMAN, 521 Linden avenue, of complication of diseases. Those surviving are two sons W.T. BAKER, Lima, and H.P. BAKER, Swabders, Ohio; and three daughters, Mrs. Loma WOODRUFF, Mrs. James GLICK, and Mrs. Rachel WEIGEMAN, all of Sidney. The funeral will be held at her daughter's home in Sidney, Friday at 2 o'clock. The body of J.E. LINUS, sale manager of the Dupont Powder company, was accompanied here from Cincinnati this morning to his home at 634 north Metcalf street. Death resulted from Spanish influenza. The body will be accompanied from Lima to Pittsburg, Pa., for burial. David TIMMONS was born January 31, 1839 and departed this life at the home of his daughter in Harrod, Ohio, Oct. 19, 1918, aged 72 years, 8 months, 18 days. Heart trouble being the cause of his death, which came very sudden to his family and friends. His wife preceded him in death 14 years ago. He was a member of the Pleasant Valley U.B. church for 35 years. He leaves one daughter Mrs. M.E. WILLIAMS of Harrod, and a host of friends to mourn his departure. He was a kind and loving father, and a good neighbor. Dearest Father, thou has left us And thy loss we deeply feel, It is God that hast bereft us, He can all our sorrows heal. Remember me as you pass by, As you are now, so once was I; As I am now, so you must be, Preface for Death and follow me. Mrs. Lesile DEITZ, 36 years of age, 1091 south Metcalf street, died at the City hospital yesterday, after an illness of three weeks. Those surviving are her husband and three sons, Arthur, Howard, and Leonard DEITZ. The funeral arrangements have not been completed. Card of Thanks We wish to thank our friends and neighbors for their kindness and assistance during our late bereavement in the loss of our husband and father. Also the National Union of Lima. WHARTON is visiting friends and relatives in Dayton, O., till after the Fourth. Mrs. HARNLEY, of Van Wert, is visiting her daughter Mrs. D.J. CABLE, of west Market street. Robert B. GORDON, of St. Marys, was in this city a short time this morning, on his way to Toledo. Misses Catharine and Josephine CURREN have returned to Middletown after a pleasant visit with Lima friends. Miss FISHER, of Ft. Wayne, returned home yesterday after a visit with her cousin, Charles WERST, and family. Mrs. Ruby PECK and two children, of south West street, are visiting Mrs. and Miss Maude PINARD in Detroit. Miss Emelia WERST, of Wapakoneta, who has been the guest of her cousin, Miss Mary WERST, has returned home. Mrs. Will ZOLLINGER and son and Miss Till ZOLLINGER of Piqua, are visiting Mrs. J.D. JONES, of Bellefontaine avenue. Mrs. I.G. SPECK, who has been visiting her daughter, Mrs. M.B. EVY, of St. Johns avenue, has returned to her home in Dupont, O. Mr. and Mrs. Ed KING and Robert KING, of Chicago, and James B. TOWNSEND, Harry TOWNSEND and Frank MITCHELL left this morning for Detroit. From there they will take a pleasure trip of several days. Councilman Thomas O'BRIEN returned home Sunday night from Cincinnati, where he visited his wife, who is a patient in the Good Samartian hospital. He reports that Mrs. O'BRIEN's health is rapidly improving. Edward ALBRIGHT, the son of Rev. ALBRIGHT of Grace M.E. Church, arrived home a few days ago from Parkersburg, W. Va., where he was employed as principal of the high schools. He, with his mother and sister, left this morning for Asheville, N.C. to spend the summer. Mrs. James BLACK, of west Spring street, fell together with a step ladder in the yard at her home yesterday and sustained a severe injury. She was standing on a step ladder picking cherries and her nephew, Charles NYE, was in the tree. A limb upon which NYE's weight was resting suddenly broke and struck the ladder, knocking it over. In striking the ground Mrs. BLACK's left foot was twisted under her and the ankle was broken. The fracture is a very bad one and Mrs. BLACK will be disabled for a long time. The fracture was reduced by Dr. COLLINS.

    3. I am seeking an obituary for an Allen Co native who grew up in Van Wert Co and died in Chicago. The odds of an obit appearing in Allen Co are slim, but I'm hoping!!! If anyone has an opportunity to seek an obit at the historical museum in Allen Co, I would appreciate your looking for one for: Charles M. Mumaugh d 30 Dec 1917 in Chicago/Waukegan, Illinois area. His parents were Morgan Mumaugh and Mary Jane McClure (daughter of Samuel McClure 1793-1875). I have his death certificate from Illinois and a very brief obituary from the Waukegan paper. The deceased was 86 years of age and had been a resident of the county for the past 52 years. About 3 years ago he retired from his farm, eight miles east of the city on the Marion road, and with his wife, moved to the home of his daughter. He was prominent in his community, and in public life served many terms as school director. Surviving to mourn his death are the wife and seven children, three sons, Cyrus and Marion, of Auglaize township, and George W., of Lima, and four daughters, Mrs. Charles Long, Mrs. Arthur Poling, and Mrs. William Jamison, of Lima, and Mrs. Luther McKenney, of Harrod. Funeral services will be held at the U.B. church, Allentown, on Thursday morning at 1 o’clock, the Rev. Billie Miller officiating, and interment will be made in the Allentown cemetery.

Daugherty, 80, Route 4, died at 11:30 am Sunday in his home after an illness of three years. A retired grain and feed operator at Derby, Mr. Daugherty had lived with his sister, Mrs. Ora B. Crites, Route 4, for 20 years. A native of Franklin-co., he was married to Emma Crites, who died in 1923. He was a member of the Methodist church in Derby 50 years and served as its Sunday School superintendent, 30 years. Surviving besides his sister are a daughter, Mrs. Melva Miller, Circleville; five grandchildren, a niece and two nephews. The body will remain in Davis-Miller and Son funeral home until 1 pm Tuesday, then to be removed to the Kemp Evangelical United Brethren church for services at 2 pm. The Rev. Delbert Cress will officiate, and burial will be in Allentown cemetery. Pallbearers will be Arthur Croft, Paul Neeper, Olen Severns, Fred Beech, Roy Staver and Alva Thomas. Lima News, Sat., Oct 16, 1965 Daisy D. Crites Cridersville – Mrs. Daisy Dell Crites, 87, of Rt. 4, died at 7:15 am Friday in her residence following an extended illness. She was born May 28, 1878 in Piqua county, a daughter of John and Anna Peters Daugherty. She married Ora B. Crites June 25, 1898, and he survives. Also surviving are a son, Roy E. of Rt. 4, Cridersville; a foster daughter, Mrs. Bessie Beech of Rt. 4, Cridersville; a grandchild; two foster grandchildren and two great-grandchildren. Three brothers preceded her in death. Mrs. Crites was a pioneer member of Kemp EUB church and a charter member of the Ladies Aid Society. Funeral services will be at 2 pm Monday in Bayliff and Sons Funeral Home, Cridersville. Rev. George Bailey will officiate and burial will be in Greenlawn cemetery, Elida. Friends may call at the funeral home after 7 tonight.

Son John, December 1819 - after 1909 married Margaret CUNNINGHAM in Allen County November 1844. Apparently remained there his entire life. David appeared to have daughter Hester born about 1807 and possibly son David born about 1810. Known children all born PA. Information about other children would be appreciated. DOBBS family, of Reese avenue, have received word of the death of a relative, Mrs. Myrtle DOBBS in Rogers, Oklahoma. Word from Kenton last evening relative to Mrs. Will KELLEY was very encouraging to her relatives and friends. The remains of R.E. WARD, who suicided last Saturday evening, were interred in Gethsemani yesterday afternoon, the funeral party driving over from Spencerville. Mrs. W.D. SPANGLER, of Atlantic avenue, is a sufferer from abscess, and surgery may have to be resorted to for relief. Miss Emory O'DELL, of west Kibby street, returned Wednesday night from a visit of several days with her brother, Frank P., and wife, in Landisville, Ind. There are two cases of measles at the Henry SHENK home, on Holmes avenue. Charles GILMORE, of south Main street will remove his family to Portland, Ind., next week, having taken a position as car inspector for the L.E. & W. people at that point. Nelson CRAMER, of the firm of Pugsley & Cramer, has been called to Auburn, Ind., by the illness of his father. Mrs. Grant KELLEY, of Madison avenue is entertaining her mother, Mrs. J.W. MONROE, of Pemberton, and her sister, Mrs. J.R. VALENTINE, and daughter of Dayton. Miss Katie OSWALD, of Wapakoneta, is the guest of Miss Elizabeth McBARRON, of south Elizabeth street.
