    2. New England's Congregationalists-ex Puritans, and the Presbyterians ,abt 1700,co-sponsered missionaries,with new churches so founded to be Presbyterian. Evang Reformed Dutch,and French,often became Presbyterians. And the Scotch,and Scoth-Irish. Some say NEWTOWN LONG ISLAND, JUST east of the UN BUILDING ,WAS 1ST PRESBYTERIAN CHURCH in colonies. Early sw Ohio Presbyterians split by the 1801 Cane Ridge Revivial "NEW LIGHT" spirit,if not by the earlier "NEW LIGHT"expeiance from Whitefield's time-1740's. Rev's Finley's .involved in both. Many NEW LIGHTS BECAME SHAKER BY 1806-11 Downtown Cincinnati had only Presbyterian ministrs til the NEW LIGHT split. Adams Co was more Presbyterian than the others. Brown Co early had a Presbyterian church on every major creek,a few miles from the Ohio,but many became SHAKER,or NW LIGHT=CHURCH OF CHRIST=CAMPBELLIGHT CHRISTIAN. Only very eastern Clermont had Presbyterian churches 1st 25 years.
