As I understand it,and using a chicken egg as an example of a cell, the genetic DNA is found in the nucleaus, [or yolk, and the mitochondrial DNA is in the cell fluids,or [white of egg]. And the mitochondrial DNA always comes from the female, so mine is the same as my Mom [BROWN],and her mom[ELY,],and hers [JUSTICE],and hers [BLACKMAN 1815 NJ shore to sw Oh] and hers[Champion, and hers;[Ingersol] and hers TOWNSEND-CT>NJ So my mitrochondrial DNA, should be identiacal to a TOWNSEND gal in 1600's CT ? And my daus,and grand dau must have identical mitochrondrial DNA with MELVIN LONG of BAKERSFIELD,CA, FAGLEY>KIRKPATRICK.ASHTON>MAHAFFEY[b ne Adams Co Oh]>Walker> Newman. So, up in very eastern Adams Co,Ohio around JAY BIRD,and Blue Creek,AND Bill town,ON Scioto Brush Creek must be others with the same mitochondrial DNA as my kids. This is not genetic DNA from both male and female, but I "must" ask "the" question of my research. My only nephews died of Muscalar Dystrophy. "They" say their mother's genes changed,to allow them to get it. I've never found any trace of MD in those sharing genetic DNA with her.
