I have heard rumours that there is supposed to be a cemetery somewhere along Big Woods Road, west of Rt. 770. Someone was supposed to look for it so it could be read and listed. This cemetery is supposed to hold the grave of a Rev. War soldier named Van Pelt who at one time owned the land where the cemetery is. I have heard that at one time this area was a forest of 400 or 500 acres, hence the name, Big Woods road. Does anyone know if this cemetery had been found? I am researching the Van Pelt family and believe this may be my elusive Tunis Van Pelt buried there. This is in Scott Twp., which is where my line of Van Pelts lived.
