Hello, This is my first appearance on this list and I would appreciate any input regarding the POTTS family in Adams County, early. My great-great grandfather, Hiram Potts, was born @1800-1810 in Pennsylvania. I have found indications that his family moved to the area of Adams and Brown counties by 1820. His mother was Hannah Spacht/Speck and his father Jesse Potts. Hiram had a brother named David, who married Elizabeth Charles. The men were riverboaters by occupation. By 1840, Hiram was living in Newport KY and died there in the 1880's. I'd like to hear from anyone with either POTTS in their family, or any information on following up the riverboatmen lead. I have found much information on other Potts names, but can't come up with Hiram! Thanks, Ann Bergelt Florida
