    3. "Splitting a gedcom database would be a function of your genealogy software. Check the instruction book,or the Help SECTION of your own genealogy software program. Check the choices available on your genealogy soft ware's choices. I t may be a choice not available until you have clicked the 'make a gedcom' choice. I was very critical of the gedcoms I was getting. They just included names and dates- no locations, and nothing to flesh out the individiuals. After 3-4 years, it came to me,I was seeing only names and dates, because that was the choice I was telling my own software program when I imported a gedcom. The gedcoms I was getting very likely contained much infromation that was not being imported into my own program. I am awaiting an ordered Y2K and Windows version of my old Brother's Keeper program. Family Tree Maker seems to be limiting my choices of adding data. Maybe it's my own habits that I don't feel like breaking. I enter, not just town, but exact location,if I know it.
