I found a diary in "Cross-Roads: Decriptions of Western Pa: 1720-1829 mentioning MISS GRIMES and MISS CRAWFORD fording a creek in 1775 at Connellsville,Pa - '125 Journal of Nicholas Cresswell" 1775 very Loyalist . Mentions Miss Grimes having too much Irish in her. Page 145 of Howard Leckey's "The 10 mile country and it's Pioneer Families" has a petition foe a new state,1779[?] 1782+? with JAMES cONNELL,BENJAMIN WELLS [Whiskey Rebellion tax agent] ;Lt John Crawford,NOBLE GRIMES, JOHN STEPHENSON's names together Noble Grimes attempted a court-house town for new Adams Co,Oh in abt 1798, just east of the mouth of Ohio Brush creek,or within 2-3 miles of RICHARD GRAHAM'S 1790-91 FORT ON THE KY bank . 1786,Ricgard Graham bought out Lt John Crawford's property at NEW HAVEN,Pa.
