Hello: I'm seeking information on William THOMAS of Meigs Twp., Adams County, and his descendants. William was born about 1765, probably in Pennsylvania, and came to Adams County in about 1812. He bought land in Meigs Twp., and founded the little village of Jacksonville. His wife was Catherine. Some sources give her maiden name as RANDOLPH; others as LAWRENCE. William, Catherine, and some of their children moved to Marion County between 1820 and 1830. Other of their children, including my ancestors, Isaac THOMAS and William THOMAS, Jr., (yes, I'm descended twice from William Thomas0 remained in Adams County.
