John C. COOPER was born in Massachusetts about 1800, and by occupation was a "cooper" [cask and barrel maker]. John C. COOPER lived in Eckmansville from about 1849 to at least 1875, and was also a Justice of the Peace for Wayne Township. Mr. COOPER's wife's name was Ann, who was born about 1811 in Pennsylvania. I look forward to hearing from any MORRISON researchers or researchers of Eckmansville families. I will help you, in turn, in whatever way I can. Thank you! >> My ancestor, John Swanger was also a cooper in Wayne Twp.. I am not sure where they lived but they attended church in Cherry Fork apparently. They moved to Adams Co. from Mifflin Co. PA in 1846/7. Several other members of the extended family were carpenters, was there a connection? I don't know. Also, on May 14, 1916 Fred MORRISON of Peebles m. Martha Frances McCormick. Martha was also a great granddaughter of John Swanger. James MORRISON was a descendant of James and Mary Kennedy MORRISON. Mary Swanger Courtemanche
