John Fulton McClure b.11Sep 1829 in Adams Co., OH, d.11 Jun 1900 in Marion Co., KS, m. Elizabeth Lowry 24 May 1849 also in Adams Co. He served in Co. G, 172nd Regt, Ohio Volunteer Infantry from 2 May 1864 until 13 Sep 1864 and was discharged at Gallipolis, OH. We believe his siblings to be: Susan, William (S), Ollie, Clyde, Alvin and Jennie. He left Adams Co. and moved to McLean Co., IL, in the fall of 1868 where they resided until 1872 when they moved to Marion Co., KS. We have been unable to find the parents of John and would appreciate any help we can get. He named his two sons - Richard Morrison McClure and William (Willis) Steele McClure so we wonder about a connection with a Fulton and/or Steele family. Elizabeth Lowry's family are buried at Cherry Fork, Adams Co. John was a Presbyterian from the age of 15. Please contact me if you have any information! Thanks to the list.
