Hello Everyone, >From personal experience I know that at least one of the Will books burned. >From being a member of the Adams Co. Gen. Soc. and doing research at the Heritage Center, I know that by requesting vital record information after the fire some info was regained. We sell a few books with this info. Resently, the Court House ask the Gen. Soc. to store some old books. This month, we started logging these books and putting them in order. We were not surprised that most volumes started after the Aug or Oct. (I forget which,) 1910. But there is good news, we have found around 20 different type of ledgers that have dates in the 1800's and up. The committee will decide what to do, but everyone seems to want to focus on the early records first. I'm not sure if they'll be abstracting the info into books for the public or letting the public see the books. Most are very frail. I'm sure that in the next couple of months, we'll finish sorting through them and decided what to do. I've said this many times and would like to say it again, the Adams County Heritage Center is one of the best little genealogical library I've been to, and there have been a lot. They have anything and everything related to Adams Co., Ohio, and if they don't have something they try and get it. But they don't stop there, they also try to get books & films on all the counties surrounding Adams, even those in KY. Plus, state books, that the early residents came from. Delsey ACGS VP
