I received this taday and had to share it with the list. If anyone knows more about my family, please let me know. My grandfather, Marion Stephen Eubanks, was called Stephen. He was born in 1873 in Buena Vista, Adams /Scioto County, Ohio. His father was Francis M. (Frank) Eubanks, born 1837 ...KY Bob Eubanks Leesburg, FL Got your e-mail messages. I come through Elliott Eubanks from Adams/Brown Counties, OH. He was killed in the Civil War, Co. 'E,' 7th OH Cavalry, in Feb. of 1863. He was the son of Herrington Eubanks, born in PA , son of James Eubanks I think, he and his brothers, father John Eubanks, all came to Fleming Co. KY in the late 1790's from Talbot Co. MD, then on into so. Ohio. I'm sure you have already been in contact with the following persons, but back in 1984, I was corresponding to a Maureen Jones Lee of Addison, AL, whose grandmother was Eliz. C. Jones, daughter of Walker Eubanks, b.Aug. 14, 1838 in Mason Co. KY, married Catherine Eliz. Rogers in 1874 in Glasgow, MO, died July 1, 1917 in Leavensworth, KS.He was in the 39th OH Infantry, Co. 'I,' from Adams Co. OH. He had a sister Sarah, brother Marion F. or 'Frank' Eubanks. Frank''s children were Geo. W., James, Oscar, Cyrus, Stephen, John, Sarah, Wm. H., Lizzie. Seem to be your kin. Maureen told me a descendant of Frank Eubanks and Anna Parris had sent her material. I also used to correspond with a Charles Eubanks, of Peebles, OH in Adams Co., His grandfather was Marion Franklin Eubanks who married a Lydia Paris, supposedly from Paris, KY, in Bourbon Co. They had Bert, John, Stephen, Elizabeth, William (Charles' father), Mary, Edward and Walter. He told me, "All I know, is that my mother said that my Grandfather told her that there were he, his brother and one sister, and that their mother and father died, and they were put out in homes, became separated and he never knew what became of them." I received a letter from his in December of 1978, he was 71 years old at that time. I had called him on the phone on July 31, 1978, and he told me the above as well. He said that "3 boys and a girl (a sister) came down the Ohio River on a flatboat, one got lost. They were from Virginia. Their parents had died in Virginia. They were put out...but later all got together and came to the Ohio area." Charles grandfather rode with Morgan's Raiders. His great-grandfather being from Tennessee, disowned his son when he run off and joined the Confederate guerilla fighter. That's all I have. Hope it helps. Dan Rolph
