Flo, New Rome OH is a different place from Rome OH. Rome is in Green Twp. Adams Co. down on the OH River while New Rome is in Prairie Twp. Franklin Co. up in the center of the state. I have a DeLorme atlas of OH and it shows New Rome just to the west of the Columbus city limits near US 40. I believe the OH death certs. before 1954 are at the OH Historical Society. There should be some way to get a copy. I have written an email to someone who might be able to help. Stay tuned.
