So, Mary Margaret Kates (m. Archabald Brooks) and Barbara Ellen Thatcher (m. James Norris Kates) would have been sisters-in-law? My records show that James Norris Kates was my ggrandmother's older brother and that their parents were William Kates (1810-1889) and Catherine Rader (1823-1890).
