There seems to be some confusion about "gatewayed messages." When a message comes to this or any other Rootsweb mailing list that says "This is a Message Board Post that is gatewayed to this mailing list," it means that the message has automatically been forwarded to the list from the Message Board at Rootsweb. In many cases - not always, but very often - the person who posted the message to the Message Board is not a subscriber to the mailing list and, therefore, will not see a reply that is posted only to the list. Although I'm sure most all the list subscribers enjoy seeing replies to these messages (I know I do), in most cases the original poster will not see the reply unless you 1) also send it to his/her personal email address or 2) you click on the highlighted hot link and post a reply on the message board. If you post your reply on the message board, it too will be gatewayed back to the list for all of us to see. Herma
