Rosa [Nelson] Newman. She was married to David W. Newman. b. February 12, 1856 in Sandy Springs, Adams County, Ohio. His parents were. Richard Newman and Nancy Jane Evans. Here is the new lead. Greene Twp., Adams Co., OH 1880 Census Lewis F. Nelson 28 Celia Ann wife 25 [Now get this [Celia Ann Newman is the dau of my gg-grand parents Richard Newman and Nancy J Evans] Arther W. son 4 Celia gives Kentucky as birth of mother. Arrilla Bell dau 2 no name son 1 month Rozetta sister 19 [ This we think is Rose [Nelson] who married David W.Newman. In 1880 David Newman was also in Green Township. [Son of Richard Newman and Nancy Jane Evans. 1880 Green Township Richard NEWMAN Self M Male W 52 OH Pensioner OH OH [GG-granddad] Nancy Jane [ Evans] NEWMAN Wife M Female W 54 KY Keeps House KY KY David W. NEWMAN Son S Male W 23 OH Quarry Laborer OH KY Ky [Nancy Evans in KY] Martha C. NEWMAN Dau S Female W 21 OH House Keeping OH KY John W. MASON GSon S Male W 3 OH OH OH [I don't know which dau married a Mason] Now in all census' s Rose gives a different state for her parent's birth. In the 1880 census she and her brother gave no state for parents So I know Rosa was still alive in 1930. She is in the 1930 Census Census Perry Township, Fayette County with my dad yet. I ran a death cert. search and found a Rozetta Newman who died in Scioto in 1936. There is a good chance that is her so I will send for it. I searched the 1870 Green Township for Rose Nelson 1 pg at a time, as Ancestry doesn't have it indexed. That took an hour and a half. Then I wonder what we are paying for as most Census aren't indexed. No wonder I can't find people half of the people I look for. For heavens sake I could go to the library and copy unindexed pages. Any way I looked in my marriage book vol. 1 and there aren't any Nelsons. So it looks like the Nelsons might not been in Adams very long. Maybe Scioto. So what I would like is anything on any Nelson in Adams County and I really think these people were in Scioto. Any thing at all. If it has the Name Nelson lead me to it. Even if there is no know relationship. There aren't many so chances if I put it all togeather something will show up. Yours truly, Brenda [Newman] Moss
