    3. I am researching the RANSOPHER (ROUNSAVELL) surname. Specifically, a Quick Rounsavell moved from Hunterdon County, New Jersey to Muskingum County, Ohio in the early 1800s. He died there in or around 1806. I am trying to determine exactly who his children were. I believe that he had two children, Aaron RANSOPHER (1807-Jan 12 1876) and James RANSOPHER (Mar 16 1809-Feb 14 1876) but I have not proven this yet (although the dates do not match exactly).. There is an estate record for a Quick Rounsifer who died in 1806 in Muskingum County, Ohio, Will Book A, page 38, case #9. He died without a will and his nearest next of kin was listed as a James Milford and his wife Christianna who relinquished their rights to the letter of administration to the estate. I have also found a Quick ROUNSAVAL is listed on page 261 in "SIMS Index to Land Grants in West Virginia" as having 30 acres in Wilkin's Mill Run in 1796, Book 1, Page 431. He is listed along with a Benjamin Rounsaval (probably his father). A "Mrs. Ann Rounsover", aged 30, is listed as marrying Benjamin Norman in 1817 in Coshocton County, Ohio. She is probably the widow of a Rounsavell, as she is listed as "Mrs." not "Miss". Perhaps she could be the widow of Quick Rounsavell who died in 1806 and they could be the parents of Aaron and James who were orphaned at a young age in the same general area of Ohio? At a sale of Benjamin Norman held in December of 1826, Aaron Rounsifer purchased several items of farm equipment which indicates that there was some relationship between Ann and Aaron. It is assumed that Quick Rounsavell is the father of Aaron and James Ransopher, due to the fact that he moved to the same area of Ohio were Aaron and James were born. Furthermore, he died right around the time of their births which may explain why they were "bound" children who were raised with other families and also why they never knew their father. This is purely speculation but seems like a logical choice. But why did Aaron and James get bound out when Ann was still alive at the time of Quick's death in 1806? I am hoping that someone may be able to provide me with more insight into this situation.
