Penny Webb has a treasure trove of photgraphs, etc. from the James Madison family. I'm assuming they belonged to my father's Aunt Estelle, who was in the orphanage in Xenia, but in 1900 census was back at home with her mother in Bentonville. Penny also has the family register of births and deaths, most of them filled in by Vanellia. The pictures of James Madison's son George William and his four sons is wonderful--my brother--also named Philip Lewis--was very confused, kept asking if I was SURE that boy on the back row wasn't our father. I'm sure--but gosh they all look alike! My cousin (daughter of my Uncle George) almost fainted when I sent her a picture of James Arthur, son of George William above--her son Stan is a carbon copy--they're the only handsome ones of the lot--the rest are just BIG. Now to find the REST of my grandfather's siblings--but at least we now know the names of all who lived into adulthood! However, Penny is still convinced that Estelle's story about Vanellia Meeker being sister to Ezra Meeker (of Oregon Trail fame) is true--I heard that story forty years ago, but never believed it--so I keep sending Penny proof it was Estelle's fantasy! Hope all is well, Karen
