    2. This is a Message Board Post that is gatewayed to this mailing list. Surnames: Hazelbaker, Scott, Johnson, Campton, Young, Robinson Classification: Query Message Board URL: http://boards.ancestry.com/mbexec/msg/rw/YYB.2ACI/1919 Message Board Post: Is there anyone out there doing Young or Scott research in Adams County, Ohio who knows the children of James and Agnes (Young) Scott? I believe they had 9 children, of whom I have been able to identify only two: John, b. 1812 (probably their firstborn) and David, b. 1820 (could be their youngest). I would love to know their other children's names and dates of birth. They are my brick wall. Agnes was the daughter of Daniel Young and his first wife, name unknown. Thanks for any help you can give me. Jill jellofoley@sbcglobal.net jellofoley@hotmail.com

The Jones family tree say she was a Jones.(Maiden name). I spoke with Don Newman in Cincinnati, and he said he thought she was a Caraway, since she was buried in the Caraway Cemetary. I know that the Newmans were related to the Cains, and Jones, so I would say it would more likely be the Jones. Wish I could find a birth/death/marriage Certificate. It should be in Va. If thier is one. I'm guessing since Samuel was born there, and so was the Jones/Cain ancestors. Do you remember any info on Maggie(margaret elizabeth) or Elizabeth Margaret Horn/Honn. Born in 1863, Ohio. Lived in Lawerence Co Ohio in1870., with parents Moses Honn, and Rachel Santee Honn/Horn. Married Andrew Bird Newman, 1895, in Adams Co. Ohio. She had several children by a man named Hawse, before she married my gr grandfather. She died probably about 1910. She died while my Grandfather was still young, or at least thats what he was told. There are several Maggies in the Honn families. Just wanted to see what you knew about them. Clarence Edward Newman, June 17, 1897, Ad Co Ohio, was my Grandfather. Kenneth Oren Newman,(Sawdust), 1920, Ad Co Ohio, was my father. Linda k juanice Newman-Johnson, 3 7 1947, Ad Co Ohio. I have lived out west for years, but I would appreciate your input into this family. Lkjnj

Tis is the one I got out my magnifying glass for. The other Mullis cousin with the cirtificate did the same and agrees it is Mullis. I bet if I had 4 papers for my Nancy it would be spelled the same. The wildest document I ever got my hands on was for my Rev. soldier James Maynard. The papers included a list of four different spellings that I would find within the file. And when I counted there was actually five. Oh well you know how it goes. I am happy to find a document no matter how the name is spelled. Brenda

Surnames: Rogers, Munce, Muncey, Shaw, Lines Classification: Query Message Board URL: http://boards.ancestry.com/mbexec/msg/rw/YYB.2ACI/1613.1.1.3 Message Board Post: I sincerely apologize for the long delay in responding. Your family is Munson? I have a Gerta Muncey, dau. of Levi and Margaret from Greene Co. PA who married a Hugh Shaw, originally from Delaware. There were Rogers in Green Co., PA, in far southwest PA. Gerta married William Rogers and their eldest son was John Rogers, born Greene Co., PA 3-26-1800; lived there all his life. I believe the town of Rogersville, PA was named for him. He invented a water-wheel. His father obtained a 311 acre tract on 11-26-1805 called Rogers Fancy on Bates Fork branch of the South Fork of Tenmile Creek. Gertie who was widowed by Hugh Shaw was Willaims' widow in 1811. Of interest is that Samuel Peden had built a horse mill for Wm. Rogers in 1807. There were Pedens in MD. My Rogers were from MD but can't quite trace them. I have also ancestors named Bennington from the same area of MD as my Rogers and I have a clue they may have been from DE. So think there may have been migration from DE to MD, then service in the Revolution, then migration to Washington Co. PA and around Greene Co., PA then migration to southwest Ohio - over several generations. His dau. said Wm. Rogers was born in Delaware. He died in Washington Co., PA, struck by lightning coming from a mill. The Lyons family was related to them. This name shows up along my families' migration trail; I think it is sometimes spelled Lines. In fact Gertra Munce Shaw Rogers then married Benjamin Lyons and they had a child too. They lived three miles south of Waynesburg, PA. Some of the Rogers from Greene County went to Adams County, OH by first or second decade of 1800s; feel they are cousins to my William Rogers; can't prove it. They all have the MD conenction.
