1. [OHADAMS-L] Re: Brittinghams of Brown/Adams Co. OH
2. Helen, Franklin P. Hopkins, b. West Union, Adams County, Ohio 20 Jan 1853; d Cincinnati, Hamilton Cnty, OH 08 October 1937 was son of William E. Hopkins and his wife, Eliza Brittingham. Eliza Brittingham was b. 20 December 1827 Ohio d. 12 December 1881 in Adams County, bur. at Manchester Cemetery. They were married about 1845 and had Arcada, Sarah A., Franklin P., Margaret, and perhaps Sassie(?). From her birthdate and the fact that Frank Hopkins, age 18, and Sassie(?) Hopkins, age 6, appear in the 1880 Ohio census in the household of Joseph Brittingham, age 55 and his wife Martha and Pernell Brittingham, age 84 is living in the same household, I believe that Eliza Brittingham may have been the daughter of Purnell Brittingham who was b. in MD abt 1785 and his 3rd wife, Mary (Cartwright) Bryan. He is shown with 2 daughters the right age in the 1830 and 1840 census. I have seen some of the Family Treemaker User Home Pages but I do not know any evidence which connects Purnell to the Worcester County MD Brittinghams or to Roland Brittingham. My HOPKINS line may also lead back to Worcester County MD and may also connect to the HOPKINS families in Brown County, OH or Bourbon County, KY. Also looking for GUTHRIDGE in Adams County. 2. HI CATHY, I am sending you the cemetery listing which is on the web. You can click the state you wish to see a list of. I've not checked to see if your Hopewell Cemetery is here or not. But many cemeteries in Ohio are listed with addresses etc.... ( As well as those in any other state which you choose to search.) Good luck and MAY GOD BLESS YOUR SEARCH. The URL: http://www.funeral.com/cemeterystates/ Here is the link: (you may be able to click on it and not have to type the address in. Should work either way, as perhaps you already know.) U.S .Cemetery Listings By State (Ohio) From a fellow- searcher, PAT

2. Thanks for sharing the information on Elizabeth Wisecup. She is not the Elizabeth I was looking for but I am sure she fits in somewhere on my line of Wisecup. My Elizabeth is the sister of Abraham Wisecup and my Elizabeth was forn in 1785, so I suspect she is the daughter of Abraham or one of his brothers. Thanks for the information. I am not related to Thomas or Thoroman... sorry..no additional information to share on these lines. Dee
