Maysville is literally right across the river from Manchester, Adams County, OH. Before all the dams were built on the Ohio, you could walk across the river bottom. That is how the runaway slaves crossed the river to stations along the Underground Railroad in Adams and Brown Counties. Maysville would have been within walking distance from parts of Adams County. 3. Janet, The Antioch Cemetery is located on Ohio St. Rt. 781, about 6 miles from St. Rt. 41. It is beside the Antioch church. I went to school at Antioch, a one room school, and we played in the cemetery. You can order the Meigs Twp. cemetery book from the Adams County Genealogical Society, P.O. Box 231, West Union, OH 45693. It should be listed in that book. They sell it for $10.00, plus 6% tax for Ohio residents. 1. [OHADAMS-L] Louisa Sprinkle Walker
    2. Margaret Sopp
    3. Delsa asked (see her post, below) is I knew where Louisa Sprinkle Walker is buried. No, Delsa, I don't. I also don't know where she died. Louisa is the daugher of my ancestors, David Sprinkle and Elisabeth Metz. She is a sister to my great-great grandfather, William H. Sprinkle of Jacksonville, Meigs Twp. Sometime between 1850 and 1860, David moved to Rome (Stout) in Adams County. Chances are Louisa accompanied her father. Her brother, William, remained in Meigs Twp. William is buried at Jacksonville Cemetery. I do not know where their father, David, is buried. His 2nd wife, Sarah McGovney Sprinkle, is buried at Point Cemetery, which is in (I think) Green Twp. If anyone can locate Louisa in any of the cemetery books, I would appreciate that information. Knowing where she is buried and knowing who was buried near her, might help me determine her husband's name. I'd love to know if she had children. Her early death leads me to suspect she died as a result of childbirth. Margaret

    3. Hi, Does anyone know if these Adams Co. WALKERs you all are talking about were related to WALKERs just over the county line in Scioto Co. Nile Twp.? My ggg grandmother was Sarah WALKER b. 1823 VA d. 1911 Nile Twp. (Rt. 125) Scioto Co. OH m. 1840 Nelson ODELL. Sarah's father was William WALKER. d. 1843. I suspect that Sarah had a brother named Wm. J. because there are several land purchases recorded for Wm. J. WALKER in Nile Twp. around the same time Nelson ODELL was putting together his acreage.
