    3. I read on one of my lists that a good place to check for ancestors was in the tax lists. Can anyone tell me if there is a place on the web to find them listed for Adams County? Or where I could find them? Thanks Linda __________________________________________________ Do You Yahoo!? Bid and sell for free at http://auctions.yahoo.com

    2. Well, I made it to the Sandy Springs Cemetery and even found what I was looking for Joseph L. McFarlands grave plus his wife Susan Metz and the son's family. There was many and I do mean many very old graves there, and the cemetery was very well kept. There also was a sign that listed every veteran buried there up to the 2nd world war. There was about 100 of them. I took a picture of it and hope to get it developed soon. There was one thing that I found to be very odd, that is the ground was covered with cactus. As far as Bill McFarland, I knew of a Bill that went to Wheelersburg High School, I think his father was the overseer of the newer Wheelersburg Cemetery. I don't think he was any relation though. Thanks for all the information Bob McFarland Groveport, Oh

    3. Dunkinsville is on RT 41,in the creek bottoms. Just west of town is a hill up to Wheat Ridge. The road is climbing that hill, including the bend to the north. About 1960's Amish moved into the Wheat Ridge neighborhood. Just east of Dunkinsville, and just north of town,on RT 41, are bridges over Ohio Brush Creek. So those 50 acres are just atop the hill,or a portion was hillside. ___________________________________________________________________ Get the Internet just the way you want it. 1. [OHADAMS] Dunkinsville
    2. Hi All...I have been watching the list for several months now. My ancestors were Dunkin folks who came from Washington County, PA to Adams County, Ohio in approx 1815-1820. My fifth greatgrandfather John Dunkin, his sons Hercules Dunkin and Joshua Dunkin and their sons, including a Samual Dunkin. I found in a old land deed map that Joshua Dunkin's land was located right outside of a town called Dunkinsville. The land he owned was off a road that led directly west out of the center of town and then the road curved north. It was on the north east corner of this bend that Joshua owned land...approxmatly 50 acrers. Now I have to wonder about the town Dunkinsville? Would anyone happen to have knowledge of the history of this little town..if it is that at all? And could it be that my 4th great granduncle named the place?? Please respond! Thank you all in advance! Darla Dunkin Ushler

    2. To: Pat in AZ <HPPYHRTS@aol.com> and anyone else who might know, I noticed that you were born in Buena Vista. My grandfather, Marion Stephen Eubanks was born in Buena Vista, Ohio on 22 Mar 1873. His father was Francis M. Eubanks, his mother was Anna Elizabeth Paris. I have not had any luck in finding any records of his family. They later moved to Peebles then to Highland Co, OH then to Aurora , IN. Anny suggestions on where to look for any scrap of records? 2. SANDY SPRINGS CEMETERY I KNOW OF IS IN SANDY SPRINGS, ADAMS CO. OHIO. ON RT 52, EAST OF MANCHESTER, WEST OF PORTSMOUTH, OHIO. JUST LOOK AT THE MAP OF OHIO, (ROAD ATLAS EASIER TO SEE THAN THE ENCYCLOPEDIA.) FIND PORTSMOUTH ON THE OHIO-KENTUCKY BORDER (THIS IS THE OHIO RIVER) GO LEFT (WEST) TOWARD MANCHESTER, AND YOUR WILL SEE SANDY SPRINGS...DON'T BREATH REAL HARD OR YOU MIGHT MISS IT...IT'S VERY SMALL. ROUTE 52 FOLLOWS THE OHIO RIVER. I WAS BORN ABOUT 3 MILES FROM THERE AT BUENA VISTA.....HOPE THEY HAVEN'T CHANGED THE NAME OF THE CEMETERY SINCE I WAS IN OHIO. GOD BLESS YOUR SEARCH........PAT IN AZ.

    3. www.universitylake.org/primarysources.html is a web site that links you to other web sites containing digital books and other resources. Some of the secondary web sites have collections themselves. So,the above site is a library. www.ancestry.com is a fee library of genealogy resources, while www.universitylake.org/primarysources.html is a free library of American history. That's .org and sources, not resources, and .html, not .htm Make sure you store these web sites. I'll guess 1000 SOURCES. ___________________________________________________________________ Get the Internet just the way you want it. 3. Hi! Does anyone have Amos MOORE who maried Winifred CALVERT in 1832 Scioto Co, OH, in their files? This isn't my direct line, but Winidred may have first been Winifred SMITH who married John CALVERT in VA before 1792. John Calvert died around 1812. Need Amos and Winifred's burial palce and/or date of birth and death for Winifred. Winifred SMITH CALVERT's sons Jacob b abt 1804, and George Washington CALVERT b. abt 1806, both lived in Scioto at one time. Jacob married Catherine Ann (Cynthia?) MOORE b. abt 1812. George married Mary Emma Dent HOSKINSON. I cant; find Winifred And Amos MOORE. Thought maybe they were in Adams Co after marriage. Wonder where they are buried? As I said, I need tombstone info for Winifred's date of birth and date of death so I can identify her.. Any suggestions? Any info will be appreciated. Many Thanks in advance!!!! Joanne in CA

    2. Michael Howerton
    3. My 4 great grandfather was Samuel Kimball I think he was born 9 Dec.,1813 and died 26 Aug.1872. I believe he lived all of his life in Adams county. What information I have show him as the son of Elijah Kimble 1777/1778-19 april 1852. Looking at census records has been confusing. In 1850 he is listed as 46 years old, in 1860 he is listed as 44 years old, and in 1870 he is listed as 56 years old, this leads me to believe that there might have been 2 Samuel's one a Kimball and the other a Kimble. My Samuel had 2 daughters that I know of Maybelle born 3 April 1851(I have a copy of an old photo of her) she evidently died 1878-1880 after having 3 children with William Gilbert. Mr Gilbert then Married Maybelle's older sister Mary ( I do not know Mary's birthdate. I have been told that they are buried in the IOOF cemetery in Manchester. Is there a listing of all internment's in that cemetery available to the public? Can anyone help me untangle this? Mike Howerton mikeh@vbe.com
