My G.G'pa was born 1852, so, guessing, I would have to say the pic is about 1872 ??? Too often we forget the data from the War of 1812. I own a copy of the book of [partial] rosters of Ohio Soldiers by companies, but it is un-indexed. Now the book is on-line,and has a search engine. www.ohiohistory.org then "resources" and then " military. " Since I have studied the book,comparing with Clermont and Brown Co histories,I know not all companies are listed. So,at best,you can prove that somebody "did" serve, but you can not prove that somebody did "not" serve. I also have read of several who had lived 10-15 years in Ohio,who served from Ky,and at least 1 hunter type,served from Missouri. Because many young men floated produce downriver, some may have served down-river under Adrew Jackson.
