I do not hesitate to delete or open list messages but do delete without opening any private message that has a name I do not know. You see, I'm also on several list and know the rules quite well, but for some reason when I hit the reply button thing react different. For exp., I can reply to two different messages from the same mailing list, and one will pop-up with the mailing list address in the "TO:", and the other one will have the senders personal address. I have since started double checking, but when you're excited about the message, they can forget to check. Delsey ACGS VP

    1. [OHADAMS] William Perry/Isaac Wilson
    2. Shelley L. Johnson
    3. If ANYone comes across Adams reference to either William PERRY or any WILSON, will you let me know? Looking for parentage of Isaac WILSON b 1800 Manchester, Adams. One of his sons was named William Perry WILSON. I can't find my info on a William PERRY who worked for the county early 1800's. There was a William PERRY who took the first Clermont census. Same one? AND among what I cannot find, a William PERRY m. Mary? WILSON ca.1811. Thanks. Janell

    1. [OHADAMS] Private messages
    2. A lot of people don't seem to realize that on the Adams Co. list, if they hit the reply button, their message goes back to the whole list for everyone to see - or have to delete. If we're discussing genealogy or history or geography, it is usually a good thing to send it to the list. We all might learn something or find a clue. I'm sure that's why the list is set up for replies to go to everyone. But sometimes, we might want to consider sending a private message if we're just saying "thank you" or requesting a list of bks. for sale, e.g. You can see a sender's private email address by hitting "reply" and "include message in reply". Then you have to change the address. You can also then delete the original sender's message rather than send it back to him/her if you want to. Herma
