    2. Peggy, Try going to http://www.Scioto.Org/Adams/ and I believe you will able to find township histories that have been taken from Evans and Stivers History of Adams Co. Look at the Green Twp. history and you might find something about Stout. (I hope this is the right URL. I always think of Betty's US GenWeb site now on Rootsweb as the "real" site and find it a pain in the neck to have 2 genealogy websites to check for Scioto and Adams Co. material. Oops. Must climb off soap box before I get in trouble.) There is a Stout Cemetery located about 1/4 mi. west of Rome (Stout) along the OH River. I do Green Twp. cemetery lookups and would be happy to send you the listings from this cemetery. There are only around 20 or so names. There are no GUNTERs in the Green Twp. cem. bk. The only ADLOFFs in the bk. are buried in Sandy Springs Cem. located on Rt. 52 near Buena Vista. They are Mary Adloff, wife of Adams, 28 Apr 1823-19 Jan 1893 Adam Adloff, 1 Apr 1823- 3 Jun 1907 Theresa K. Adloff, 23 Jun 1897-13 Feb 1926 Estella Mae Adloff, 3 Jan 1833-21 Apr 1833 Adam Adloff, 1860-1938 Amanda, 1857-1915 Write me privately if you would like the Stout Cem. listings. 3. I don't know anything about "Stout's Run" but I am descended from a STOUT family who came to Adams Co. My direct ancestor was Leah STOUT, who married Isaac Wamsley, Sr. They came from NJ and were early settlers in Adams Co. I got most of my information about the STOUT family from 2 sources: "The History of the Stout Family" by Nathan Stout, written in 1823 and reprinted and published by Geo. A. Chandler in 1929, and "Stout of Monmouth County" in "Historical and Genealogical Miscellany: Early Settlers of New Jersey and their Descendents", Volume 5, by Dr. Stilwell, 1916. The latter appears to be more accurate and reliable. I would like to know about "Stout's Run" also. Penny Webb has a treasure trove of photgraphs, etc. from the James Madison family. I'm assuming they belonged to my father's Aunt Estelle, who was in the orphanage in Xenia, but in 1900 census was back at home with her mother in Bentonville. Penny also has the family register of births and deaths, most of them filled in by Vanellia. The pictures of James Madison's son George William and his four sons is wonderful--my brother--also named Philip Lewis--was very confused, kept asking if I was SURE that boy on the back row wasn't our father. I'm sure--but gosh they all look alike! My cousin (daughter of my Uncle George) almost fainted when I sent her a picture of James Arthur, son of George William above--her son Stan is a carbon copy--they're the only handsome ones of the lot--the rest are just BIG. Now to find the REST of my grandfather's siblings--but at least we now know the names of all who lived into adulthood! However, Penny is still convinced that Estelle's story about Vanellia Meeker being sister to Ezra Meeker (of Oregon Trail fame) is true--I heard that story forty years ago, but never believed it--so I keep sending Penny proof it was Estelle's fantasy! Hope all is well, Karen

    3. HI Delsey! A voice from the past - hope your research is going well. I'm planning on visiting Adams County this summer; want to go to several cemeteries and stop the ACGS for some for info; maybe I'll see you there. I believe you had told me once that John W. McCOY, who married Louisa BEEKMAN, was in your line of McCOYs. If so, would you be so kind as to send me what info you have on him. I still haven't solved the riddle of John Jr/Sr. I'm beginning to think the census was recorded inaccurately. Any new ideas on that?
