If anyone knows anything, please let me know. All I know is that my father was born in Peebles.
I am on AOL also, and right now I am having trouble accessing any website, but for your problem with subscribing, are you sure you are inserting "request" after the L when you are trying to subscribe? If that's not the problem, I don't know what it is. Ida
I have tried several times to subscribe to the OHADAMS-L list. I am on several lists, so I know how to subscribe/unsubscribe, but is anyone else reporting problems with this? Please advise! Shari

Many thanks to the Adams County Historical Society for the wonderful weekend of the Wilson Civil War Monument Rededication, June 13 and 14! Seeing and participating in reenactments of Civil War events was a fantastic way to live and learn about the lives of our Adams County ancestors. The events were planned and organized as a labor of love for their community and its past by Phil Hawkins and Ken Armstrong and many other current residents and businesses. The supportive Ohio Arts Council was well represented and some surrounding counties helped too. Keynote speaker Lester Horwitz, author of "The Longest Raid of the Civil War" and special local historian, Stephen Kelly, added the necessary touches of academic research to the events. The Adams County Genealogical Society members put in extra long hours at the Historical Museum helping visitors do research. >From the camp reenactment to the Ghost Walk at the cenetery to the gala at West Union High School to the parade and rededication ceremony, the whole weekend was well done and would provide an excellent example for others planning Ohio Bicentennial or reunion events. I traveled from Gulfport, Mississippi to West Union for the weekend. The friendly hospitality of the residents and businnesses provided me and others with wonderful memories of where our ancestors chose to live and prosper. Appreciatively, Muriel Everton descendant of Everton and Greenlee members of the 70th OVI

Surnames: McClanahan & Kincaid Classification: Query Message Board URL: http://boards.ancestry.com/mbexec/msg/an/YYB.2ACI/1599 Message Board Post: I am looking for marriage records for Milton K. McClanahan to Mary A. McClung. I feel sure the marriage was in Adams County between 1850 and 1853. Both Milton and Mary were living with their parents in Adams County Ohio before their marriage. I am aware of the courthouse fire that distroyed many of these records, but Miltons parents records survived the fire and I am hoping his records did as well. Milton was the son of John Baxter McClanahan and Elizabeth Kincaid. Mary was the daughter of Samuel McClung, of Ireland, but she was born in Adams County Ohio. Any help with the dates and possible copies of this record would be appreciated. Thanks. Daudrille McClanahan [email protected]
