MALONEY Mr. D. T. Maloney was in Prospect Tuesday, looking after his interests in the race for the democratic nomination for Sheriff of Marion county. Mr. Maloney is a former resident of Prospect and held in the highest esteen by all who know him. He is qualified in every way for the office he seeks and the democrats, and voters of every party, could find no bettar man for the place than Dennis T. Maloney. There is no doubt but what the Prospect delegates to the convention will, as they should, support Mr. Maloney and the indications are at present, that he will be the nominee of the convention. The many friends of Dennis will do all in their power to place him, on the county ticket, and if nominated will see that he is elected by a large majority. Prospect Delegates The delegates from Prospect to the republican county convention at Marion Saturday were: J. F. Moore, R. L. Osborn, J. J. Roberts, G. H. Masters, J. W. Hughes and G. F. Gast. From the township were R. R. Davids, O. J. Hedges, E. J. Lewis, H. N. Mounts and R. W. Lederer?. COMMENCEMENT Of Prospect High Schools Will be Held at Opera House Friday Evening, May 26. The following program will be rendered Friday evening, May 26, at the opera house by the graduating class of our schools. Gerlach and wife and Mrs. Handchey and daughter, Avonell, spent Wednesday with C. W. Hedges and family north of town. Mr. Main who purchased the Rutter farm north of town, is on the sick list this week. C. W. Hedges and wife visited friends in Marion, Monday and Tuesday of last week. J. W. Miller and A. D. Mohr, sold this week the Wm. H. Butz farm of 100 acres to R. H. Finefrock. When building or improving use Stone Building Block. John D. Owens & Sons. Mrs. R. H. Finefrock and daughter Mary, were guests of Cardington relatives over Sunday. Mrs. E. A. Finefrock and Mrs. J. H. Howison, were guests of Mrs. W. G. Howison, Wednesday. Mrs. May Summers and little daughter of Mitchell, S. D. are visiting her mother, Mrs. McPherson and other relatives. Mrs. Herbert Ritchie and daughter Pauline, spent Sunday in Columbus, the guests of Mr. Ritchie and others. Miss Grace Wolgamuth will spend a part of her vacation with her sister Mrs. Ogg at Carey, Ohio. Miss Bertha O'Hara of Plain City, is the guest of her sister, Mrs. John McCune (or McCone) Mrs. Boyer has returned to her home at Michigan City, accompained by Miss Edna Stockwell, for a short visit. The Prospect band delightfully sernaded Mr. and Mrs. Arthur Fleming, Saturday evening. After announcing their presence by an exhilerating tune, the boys were invited into the home where a pleasant hour was enjoyed. Mrs. L. R. McNeal entertain the Mothers' council last Thursday afternoon. The guests outside of the council members were Mrs. John Brookins, Misses Ida and Alice Hoskins, Ludin Cratty and Elizabeth Hill. F. E. Bower and family, moved Tuesday to Delaware, where they expect to reside for several years. Robert Gast, of Louisiana, Missouri, is visiting his parents, Mr. and Mrs. P. M. Gast. Rev. G. C. Gerlach officiated at the funeral of Mrs. Fink, aged 92 years, which was held at Delaware Wednesday afternoon. A son was born to Mr. and Mrs. John Northrup, Monday. E. E. Mathews was called to Lima, Monday on account of the serious illness of his father. Dr. Wyman has moved his office into the Storer Bros., building, south of the opera house. Mr. H. B. Patten, of Delaware, was in town on business, Tuesday. Miss Mildred Randal was able Monday to again take charge of the triming department at Mrs. A. L. Gast's Millinery Store. See Kuehner's Shoe Window Dennis Maloney of Marion and ex-marshal of Prospect is the latest candidate for the democratic nomination for sheriff. Denny is a good man and if elected would fill the office of sheriff creditably. REPUBLICANS Nominate a County Ticket and Elect Delegates to State Convention. The Republicans of Marion and Marion County met in convention at the common pleas court room, at 11 o'clock Saturday morning, for the purpose of selecting the various candidates to appear on the county Republican ticket next November; also to select delegates and alternates to the state and judical conventions. The court room was very nicely decorated with flags and bunting and presented an attractive appearance. As the day was an agreeable one, and the Republicans of the county manifest more than ordinary interest in the coming selection of county officers, the attendance was extremely good and some time before the hour announced for the opening of the convention the court room was filled with a crowd of anxious ones and delegates. The following are the gentlemen who compose the ticket: THE TICKET For Representative, Frank E. Coon, of Marion. For Probate Judge, Harry J. Nichols, of Marion. For Clerk of Courts, William Klinefelter of Marion. For Sheriff, E. E. Drown, of Marion For Treasurer, S. D. Wyatt, of Prospect. For County Commissionery, W. H. Holverstott of Claridon. For Infirmary Director, Lafayette Holt of Bowling Green. Delegates to the State Convention are John F. McNeil, W. G. Harding, Grant E. Mouser, D. O. Weeks, S. E. DeWolfe, C. L. Patton, J. S. Bonner, J. G. Seiter, and George W. McKinley. The alternates are T. C. Lewis, C. F. Garberson, A. C. Johnson, T. D. Emery, George D. Copeland, J. W. Boseley, R. R. Douce, J. G.
