Desire to Lynch Weinstock Seems to Have Abated. Cleveland, Ohio, Jan. 7 - Telephone communications from McConnellsville, Ohio, this morning, says all is quiet and danger of a lynching seems passed. Walter WEINSTOCK, assailant of Nellie MORRIS, is still closely guarded in the jail and Sheriff SWANDERS says he is prepared for any emergency. Word from Miss MORRIS this morning says she is still living but her condition is critical. She will probably recover if no complications set in. There is still much talk and feeling runs high in the neighborhood, but the probabilities are that the law will be allowed to take its course, as the grand jury will meet today and consider the case at once. The prisoner has not asked for counsel. ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ OH-Old-News ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ NewspaperAbstracts.com - Finding our ancestors in the news!
