A social affair that will always be remembered with pleasure by those who were the participants occurred last Thursday evening, when more than seventy-seven friends, neighbors and church members of Rev. Hurrelbrink and his most estimable wife, gathered, without informing the prospective host and hostess, at the parsonage to celebrate with mirth, music, refreshments and social mingling the thirteenth anniversary of the marriage of Rev. and Mrs. Hurrelbrink, who were united in marriage by Rev. Stellhorn of Marion. December 14, 1892. The evening was delightfully enjoyed, every guest happy and the host and hostess beaming with joy and contentment. As tokens of esteem and remembrance, Mr. and Mrs. Hurrelbrink were presented with a number of presents among them being a purse of money, which were accepted by the recipients with pleasing grace and thankfullness. It was a glorious affair and one of the leading events in the social history of Prospect. Death of August Rider August Rider an old resident of Marion county died at his home near Newman bridge at 11:30 o’clock Wednesday morning of old age diseases. The deceased would have been 74 years old next February. The funeral will be held at the Reformed church in Prospect Friday afternoon at one o’clock with interment in Prospect cemetery. Celebration The seventy-ninth birthday anniversary of Mrs. Owen B. Moyer was celebrated at her home one mile south of town by some sixty-five of her friends and neighbors last Thursday. A number of tokens of love and regard were left as remembrances among which was an elegant Morris chair by her family. A sumptuous dinner was partaken of by all and after a few hours of social greetings appropriate remarks were made by her pastor Rev. Moore. All went to their homes feeling that the day spent with her will be a bright memory. Obituary Isaac Willey son of George and Jane Willey was born January 9, 1851, near Radnor. He was married to Elizabeth Osborn August 22, 1872, to them were born twelve children of which eleven survive. After a lingering sickness which he bore patiently and with Christian resignation and fortitude he departed this life December 4, 1905, at his home near Ashley, age 54 years, 10 months and 25 days. He united with the Radnor Baptist church previous to his marriage. He leaves to mourn his loss a devoted wife, eleven children, seven grandchildren, two sisters Mrs. James Stahl of Ft. Wayne, Indiana and Mrs. Amos Stiffler of Prospect, besides many friends and acquaintances. The funeral was held Thursday forenoon Decembert 7 at Cole’s church and the remains intered in the Cole’s cemetery.
