G., assistant physician, Gallipolis Hospital $600 Lakeside Firebugs “Evidence is being secured by Deputy Fire Marshall Dimon and Sheriff Clemens of Ottawa county, which the officers believe will lead to the arrest of a gang of youthful firebugs who are thought to have been responsible for a number of fires which occurred at Lakeside during the past year. “The officers are confident that a full confession in connection with the fires will soon be forthcoming. More than a dozen cottages and several stores have been destroyed in these fires, but most of the losses were covered by Insurance.” Eastern Stars Installation At their meeting last Thursday evening the Prospect Eastern Stars installed their duly elected officers who are Mrs. O. J. Hedges, worthy matron, Mrs. J. N. Roberts, worthy patron, Mrs. Gerlach, associate matron, Mrs. S. C. Treese, secretary, Mrs. D. M. Hord, treasurer, Mrs. Roberts, conductress, Mrs. Gertrude Hansell, associate conductress, Mrs. E. M. Stockwell, Martha, Mrs. John Graham organist, Mrs. M. E. Fleming, Adah, Mrs. Frank Cook, Ruth, Mrs. Watt Howison, Esther, Mrs. L. Harshberger, Electa, Mrs. Tip Penry, Warder and Mrs. M. J. Rouse, sentinel. The attendance was large and the installation was followed by a banquet. THE LEADING SOCIAL Event of The Year Among Prospect Men Takes Place at the K. of P. Hall Tuesday Evening. Under the supervision of their pastor Rev. J. J. Halliday, the male members of the M. E. Church of Prospect have for some time been preparing a social function looking toward the entertainment and enhancment of fellowship among the men of Prospect, irrespective of church affiliation or social standing. The event took place at the K. of P. Hall Tuesday evening being named “The At Home of the Men of the M. E. Church” The first part of the evening was enjoyed by the one hundred and fifty or more guests, with music by the Prospect Male quartette, diversments on the phonograph by Sam Woodward, and delightful social intermingling. About nine o’clock a grand chicken supper was served after which Rev. Halliday acting as toastmaster made a few appropriate remarks and toasts were responded to as follows: A. E. Johnson, “The Ideal Official;” Rev C. M. Schaaf, “Broadening Influence of Christianity;” T. E. Bolander, “The Layman’s opportunity;” G. R. Taylor, “The Church-Going Habit;” T. B. Weaver, “The Coming Revival;” Dr. J. H. Fitzwater of Delaware, “The Men.” The committee on arrangement for the “At Home” was composed of J. J. Halliday, chairman; A. E. Johnson, M. E. Fleming, J. J. Herr entertained a small party of friends in honor of Mr. and Mrs. Chauncey Fish Wednesday night. President Roosevelt yesterday sent to the senate the appointment of W. R.
