The Columbus Citizen Nov. 11, 1927 BEGG TO RUN Friends Announce Candidacy for Governor By Citizen State Wire Toledo, O., Nov. 11 -- Friends of James T. BEGG, Sandusky congressman, last night announced the candidacy of the Sanduskian for governor of Ohio. The announcement was made by Alfred KOCK, president of the LaSalle & Koch Co., at a dinner complimenting the businessmen of the city. "You know Mr. KOCH's reputation for vreacity," BEGG said later, "further than that I have nothing to say about my candidacy for governor." The congressman asked many questions about the boom recently launched in Toledo by Atty. Gen. TURNER. With TURNER's candidacy practically admitted, it looks to friends of BEEG that the fight for the Rebpulican nomination for the gubernatorial position will be between BEGG and TURNER.
