She was on her way from the postoffice through the fields. She was accosted by Walter A. WEINSTOCK, who lived hear her home. She screamed and fought. Then WEINSTOCK took a razor from his pocket and drew it across her neck, laying bare the jugular vein. She seized the razor with her hands and her fingers were cut off. Attending physicians say her death is only a matter of a few hours. Weinstock was caught by a crowd of men, bound hands and feet, and removed to a building, where a number of men watched over him. A telephone message was sent to McConnellsville for officers to come and get him. There is much talk of lynching. Harry J. REYNOLDS, Prominent Business Man, Arrested for Bigamy. Article Text: Cleveland, O., March 9.--A warrant was issued today at Norwalk, Ohio, for the arrest of Harry J. REYNOLDS, of this city, on the charge of bigamy. REYNOLDS is general superintendent for one of the most extensive iron ore concerns on the Great Lakes. It is alleged that REYNOLDS, who has a wife and grown children in this city, married Miss Mae SMITH, aged 21, at Norwalk Tuesday evening. After the marriage ceremony in Norwalk, it is charged that the couple went to Buffalo, and after remaining at a hotel over night, REYNOLDS sent his bride back home on the plea that he had to go east on pressing business. REYNOLDS is 47 years of age and is prominent among business men here. The former Miss SMITH says that she was courted by REYNOLDS for over six months past and that he represented himself as a widower. Mother and Son Murdered in Their Home. Article Text: Bellefontaine, Ohio, May 24.--Mrs. Rachel AUSTIN and her son, William were murdered at their home at Middleburg, this county, last night, and their bodies nearly cremated in the house, which was set on fire, and Ernest AUSTIN, a younger son, lies at the point of death in a neighbor's house from a bullet wound in the breast. The crime is shrouded in mystery. At daybreak Ernest appeared at the door of the neighbor's house. He was desperately wounded. He said that early in the morning he was awakened by a tap at the door. When he went downstairs he was met by a robber, who shot him, killed his mother and brother and then set fire to the house to conceal the crime. Soon after the statement he became unconscious and it is not believed he can recover. Notwithstanding the story told by AUSTIN, the neighbors believe he killed his mother and brother and then shot himself, although there is no positive evidence on this point. The AUSTINS were notorious for their quarrels and Ernest was especially high tempered. A servant who left their house last evening says the two men and their mother were then quarreling over the property, the mother declaring that she would on Monday apply to the courts for a settlement, and Ernest had declared that he would never permit that. ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ OH-Old-News ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ NewspaperAbstracts.com - Finding our ancestors in the news!
