My name is Douglas Uptegraft and I am presently snagged in the midst of tracing my own family tree. The issue is the invisibility of my own paternal grandfather (William LeeRoy UPTEGRAFT, 1909-1994 or so). I have been looking through the census data for 1910 and 1920, largely in Clark County, Ohio. My grandfather's parents appear in the 1910 enumeration but he does not. His parents were Samuel A. UPTEGRAFT (1877-1934) and Susan G. GRODY or BRODY. She later married a man named James H. MOSIER. Anyway, this snag is very confusing to me. My ggrandmother appears to have divorced my ggrandfather between 1910 and 1920 as she is listed as living with her adopted parents William H. SMITH and his wife Nancy Ann.
