There was a very large Jones migration to Miami County from Georgia as a part of the Quakers fleeing from southern slavery to the free land of Ohio. I have checked my records and Miami Valley Quakers for any record of a DYE, without success. However, my records are limited. I do have two DYE in my records. Elvina DYE (1841-1925) who married John SHEARER. (4 known Children: Perry, Eli George & John). Another hint, may be that the Shearer family...although German in origin...intermarried with the Quakers. There are extensive Quaker records at Haner House in Troy, OH and the Quaker Historical Museum in West Milton. Elizabeth Jane Dye (d. 1890) who married Henry Stoltz.
