Hello Kathryn... Are you absolutely positive his surname was BOWMAN? I am only asking because I have seen my surname of BOUSMAN spelled Bowman, Bowsman, and a few others that I cannot even remember now. I have many BOUSMANs in Miami County and Adams County..early 1800-abt 1850s. Several branches then migrated to Johnson County, KS (right next to Leavenworth County). This is also the father of Stephan Genslinger who was the fire Chief of Piqua,OH. Stephan and Henry are half brothers They had one other brother, George who died in Troy OH in 1874. The ancestrial tree of these brothers may be another nine generations back to abt 1550.

OH; Martin age 6, b. OH; Hezekiah age 4, b. OH; and Mary E., age 2, b. OH. Nancy C. West married Andrew Matthew MCALLISTER, McLean Co. IL 1858. Nancy had four children with Andrew McAllister: Armanda, Laura, Edward Reed, and Ollis. 1860 census shows Nancy West McAllister's children to include Mary West age 11 b. OH and Eli West b. IN age 8. 1880 census shows Nancy living in Cowley Co, Kansas, with sons Martin J. West age 36, b. OH and Eli West age 30 b. OH. A Mary E. West married Lewis Howard Cheney in McLean Co IL. Info posted on LDS familysearch site shows a John S. West, son of Alexander and Nancy West of "Pickway" OH, immigrated to Crawford County, KS, and had a son Lewis Howard Cheney. I feel that Mary E. West Cheney is this John S. West's sister. Nancy West McAllister died December 5, 1893 in Winfield, Kansas. Obituary in the San Luis, Colorado, Graphic shows her to be the mother-in-law of Lewis Howard Cheney (Mary West Cheney was accidentally shot at a picnic in Wagon Wheel Gap, CO, in 1892.)
