Classification: Query Message Board URL: http://boards.ancestry.com/mbexec/msg/rw/RWB.2ACE/332.1.1 Message Board Post: I believe that the Nancy Stickler who married David Bier/Beer in 1825 in Miami County, OH was probably the mother of Daniel. My ancestor was John Stickler - a brother to Daniel. I have Nancy born in PA @1791 and she may have been part of the Stickler families listed in the Bedford County, PA census listings for 1810. The father (born on the Atlantic Ocean) of Daniel, John, William E., Rebecca (Beer!), and Elizabeth (Waggoner) died @1822. David and Nancy moved from Miami County to Allen/Auglaize County, OH by the 1840 census. Children listed in the 1850 census are: Jacob, Eleanor (Blume), and David. I believe Margaret (Corder) and Phoebe (Linder) might also have been children of theirs. David Beer would also have been of an age at the time of his marriage to Nancy to have had children previously.

He does not show up on the 1910 federal census in either Miami County or Shelby County. Was there a military hospital or retirement home in Miami county back in 1911? He was a poor man who had been in bad health for over 20 years by the time he died. Any ideas where I could look for records?
