    2. This is a Message Board Post that is gatewayed to this mailing list. Classification: Query Message Board URL: http://boards.ancestry.com/mbexec/msg/rw/RWB.2ACE/455 Message Board Post: My great great-grandfather Seneca D. Russell was born in New York; he married Tabitha Rodgers. One census report showed that Seneca worked in “teaming,” and I think that he drove a freight wagon or stagecoach. This couple had a son Albert Russell, who was my great grandfather. I thought that Albert was born in Morrow County, Ohio; but I recently discovered a Civil War service record that showed his birth in Troy, Ohio, in 1845. Albert apparently used three different birth years in his life: 1843, 1845 and 1847. Family sources report that Albert’s twin Delbert died. Albert’s siblings were George, Minerva, Elizabeth, William and Warren. Do any of these names relate to families in Miami County? Has anyone heard of Tabitha Rodgers? Any help appreciated. This family is hard to track, but I have data on Elizabeth and Minerva and will share it. J. Mitchell 11mitchell@mchsi.com

Looking in the publication, Miami Valley Quakers, I did not find John or Annie, However, I found children with birth dates that correspond as follows: Rebecca who married Moses Embree 17 Jul 1821 (no children listed). Sarah (Sally) who married John Eller 14 Feb 1811 Children: 1. Joseph b. 1812 m. Sarah Friend 2, Willam m 1843 Elizabeth Friend. Susan (b. 1802) who married Daniel Hoover in 1822 (no children) Byrkett/Burkett, Hoover, Friend and Embree are all Quaker families who migrated to Miami Co from North & South Carolina and Georgia in their rejection of slavery.

    1. [OH-Miami_Co] Christian Church in Troy Ohio Miami County
    2. Hello. Please advise on how to find information about church records from the Christian Church in Troy, Ohio. We have many ancestors who married and were baptized there. We have tried to find what church occupies the space now, with no success. We are hoping to find records of marriage and/or baptism for my grandmother and her mother. Eva Pearl Enyeart b June 24 1877 her daughter, Bessie M LaBig b April 27, 1893(per death certificate) or 1894 (Social Security benefits on husband) Her aunt Mary Enyeart Racer married first to a Johnson L Garvey Sept 28, 1874. We have the certificate that shows the Rev. J P Watson and followed up on that and determined he was licensed at the Christian Church, as well as another ancestor, Daniel W Elliott, married to Rebecca S Enyeart by Rev Wm Jay, also of the Christian Church. So we suspect if Eva Pearl married it was in this Church. We also are trying to determine if her daughter (in or out of marriage) was baptized there. Another ancestor, Effie Elliott, married a Daniel E Williams June 19, 1895 by a Rev Wm A Hale, also of the Christian Church. Does anyone have any data on this church? Were the records destroyed? Does anyone recognize any of these names? Thank you all for any help. Regards Chris and Mary Ottoson La Grange IL
