Classification: Query Message Board URL: http://boards.ancestry.com/mbexec/msg/rw/RWB.2ACE/471 Message Board Post: Has anyone else noticed that there are so many Taylor families, from England, Australia, US, Ohio, just about everywhere, that were considered mute or "deaf & dumb" (terrible term) or hearing impaired? I have found four siblings from one Taylor family from NJ in the early 1800's. Over the years I have noticed many others, especially in England. It must be genetic! I would love to know if anyone else has noticed the same problem. On one of the boards I had even noted one nervy woman who was calling these unfortunate people "daft" and making fun of them. If anyone had ever done a study on this problem, what a help it might be for researchers! Is there any of the Taylors on this board who have an ancestor who was considered mute or deaf & dumb? Please contact me. UPDATE: Many people have mentioned checking out this website: http://www.mvy.com/spokehand.html My library has found both articles and faxed them to me. I think I'm on the right track! Sandy smt3@earthlink.net

Does anyone have any descendants who made this migration? I am specifically looking for descendants of Benjamin Wallace, Sr. and Mary (Brevard) Wallace who made this migration, but am interested in others who made this migration during the same time period. I believe Benjamin and his family were in Blount County in the late 1790s, and some of his descendents were in Miami County, Ohio in the 1810-1839 timeframe, then in Carroll County, Indiana in 1840.

Hi listers, I am on a fishing trip for ISSAC TICE b. abt. 1826 somewhere in OH. Have never found out his parents names or where he was born in OH. 1850 census for Peoria IL says he and parents all born in OH. All other census he was on say the same. Issac Tice lived in Peoria IL for an unknown amount of time, at least I know it was from 1849 to 1853, then he and his wife, Elizabeth Ross moved to Oregon, Clatsop Co. where he bought land in 1854 and sold it in 1857. Then he and his family moved to Harrison Co. Iowa where he died shortly after 1870. I have contacted many researches in Washington Co. OH and they don't seem to have any occurance of him in their Tice familys. Thanks for any info or advice. Cidney
