    3. Posted on: Miami Co. Oh Queries Reply Here: http://cgi.rootsweb.com/~genbbs/genbbs.cgi/USA/Oh/Miami/308 Surname: Green, Lamoreaux ------------------------- I am searching for information about Emma Green, the daughter of Jacob and Amelia Downs Green, and Emma's husband, Dwight Lamoreaux. They married at Springfield, Ohio, on March 29, 1860. Though Emma may have been raised by another family, her parents did reside in Miami County and are buried in McKinnon Cemetery, which, I believe, is located near Piqua. Emma Lamoreaux's father, Jacob Green, died in 1868, possibly in Turtle Creek Township; I do not know when her mother died. Emma's sister, Sarah Elizabeth Green, married Christian Appelfeller in Springfield, Ohio, on February 24, 1852. They eventually moved to Catawba, Champaign County, Ohio, and from there to Leesburg Township, Union County, Ohio. Military records show a Dwight Lamoreaux (Lamoreux) applying for a military pension on January 13, 1896. He may have been a brother to Pvt. Samuel Lamoreaux, age 20, who enlisted at Dayton, Ohio between August 5, 1861 and October 30, 1861, with Co. D, 1st Regt., Ohio Volunteer Infantry. I would be interested in sharing information with anyone who has data on the Lamoreaux family in the southwestern Ohio area.

    3. #1: Years ago, at the Haynor Center, I was told that there was a journal or diary from a man who served under Gen. Anthony Wayne. In it, he stated that Pierre (aka Peter) FELIX was barred from the Greenville Treaty. The person that told me that, has now passed away & I don't know who wrote the journal/diary. No one I've spoke to at the center seems to know anything about it. ******* Does anyone know who wrote the journal/diary & where it can be found? #2: In trying to track down Naturalization papers on Pierre/Peter FELIX, I was also told (years ago) at the Haynor Center, that there is a listing in a court journal of his naturalization in Miami County, but the actual book with the information is missing. It seems they referred to it as "the first book". ... ******* Does anyone know anything to clarify this? ******* Is the First Book of Actual Records missing? ... I assume that FELIX is a dit name & not knowing exactly where he came from (although assuming Quebec) &/or an actual birth year, I'm at a dead end & keep going in the same circles. I know he's listed as being naturalized in Miami Co, but can not find the details. Thanks for any help!!!!! Donna

The first European settlers in Union Twp, Miami County were Quakers who moved from NC, SC, GA and VA. Yount and Jones are two of the very prominent Quaker families settling in the area. I have looked in the extensive index of Miami Valley Quakers for your family and found nothing. However, if I were a betting person, I'd bet these were Quakers or their ancestors were.
