Oh Queries Reply Here: http://cgi.rootsweb.com/~genbbs/genbbs.cgi/USA/Oh/Miami/10367 Surname: Michael ------------------------- I have not been able to confirm the children of Henry Michael, Jr. or Sr. However, I can prove that my wife's GGgrandfather, Jacob was a son of Henry Michael( probably Jr.) of Wilkes and Ashe Cos., NC. I have some unconfirmed children, but have not seen any named Joseph. It is interesting that your family spelled the name "Mikel" as my wife's family did. Although, some here in the same county spelled their name "Mikle". They are all from the same descent. Anyway, thanks for the response. David

Oh Queries Reply Here: http://cgi.rootsweb.com/~genbbs/genbbs.cgi/USA/Oh/Miami/10366 Surname: Michael, Mikel, Eller ------------------------- Do you know if Henry Michael (b. @1799) had a brother named Joseph? Joseph Michael was born in either NC or SC in @ 1790, and he was in Union Twp., Miami Co., in the 1830 Census. By 1840, he had moved to St. Joseph Co., IN. Several of his sons took the spelling of "Mikel" for their surname. I descend from Joseph Michael's son, Daniel Mikel, who married Catherine Eller in Miami Co. in Dec 1827.

    3. Posted on: Miami Co. Oh Queries Reply Here: http://cgi.rootsweb.com/~genbbs/genbbs.cgi/USA/Oh/Miami/10364 Surname: William Christopher Loeffler, Agnes Shoemaker ------------------------- William C. (1878-1951)and Agnes Loeffler (1877-1962)are buried in Piquas's Forest Hills Cemetary in Miami County. The are buried in a mausaleum, together with their daughter Mary Margert (1906-1924) who died of influenza at a young age. Their daughter Katherine Loeffler (1907-1990) was my stepmother. Niether Katherine or Mary Margert had children, so there are no living descendents. I am trying to determine the parents of William and Agnes Loeffler. I believe that Agnes's maiden name was Shoemaker. Agnes and William married about 1905, probably in Ohio, possibly in Piqua. They told me of being in Piqua during the 1913 flood. William Loeffler was born in Ohio. I believe Agnes Shoemaker was born in Ohio or Pennsylvania. Any help would be appreciated.

    3. Posted on: Miami Co. Oh Queries Reply Here: http://genconnect.rootsweb.com/gc/USA/Oh/Miami/10362 Surname: McKinney ------------------------- Thank you Lori for inquiring about early McKinney's. I went through all my McKinney files and didn't come up with any combination that would be an A. L. McKinney for that time period. I believe our William L had a family before he got to IL. and married Piner/Pinor/Pynor ( any way you want to spell it !! )but he was born abt. 1810 and his brother Reuben 1811, so 1818 would be to early for his children. It could be a brother, but we can't connect the Family to which William McKinney in Ohio????, other than the 1830 Census where they were living at the same location. Thank you for trying :-) :-) George

Oh Queries Reply Here: http://cgi.rootsweb.com/~genbbs/genbbs.cgi/USA/Oh/Miami/10361 Surname: DAVIS ------------------------- Looking for names of my 3G grandparents who had at least one son, my 2G G/D Asa Davis. Both of the 3G G/P were born in NJ probably 1775-1795. Where married unknown. At some point however, they lived someplace in OH; possibly along / near the National Road such as Miami Co. It was here in OH where son Asa was born in 1818. Final residence of 3G G/P is unknown. Asa however went on to Madison Co.IN where he lived from at least 1838 to 1864. While there he married Mary Jane Branson in 1846. In summary, looking for names of NJ born Davis husband and wife who lived in OH and had their children from probably 1810 to 1830. Also interested in names of siblings of the Asa mentioned above. Thanks. Any clues / ideas are welcome Eldon Davis

    3. I would appreciate it if someone could look through the Piqua City Directories for 1899-1905 for Edward Sexton. He owned and operated a Stable/Livery on West Water St. I believe during those years. I checked the LDS site to see if they were microfilmed but there does not appear to be any microfilm I can order. Thanks Tom

Naturally, the Henry Michael and Henry MIchael Sr. listed in 1800 census would not be him, but possibly his father ? Henry MIchael married Elliz. Stewart in 1816. They had Lucinda, Mahala, Samuel, Solomon, Mary, and Philip. They were part of the German Brethren and the girls married sons of Philip Younce. I don't know if it was part of a church movement, but most ended up in Delaware Co. , Indiana

    1. [OH-MIA] Sexton's in Piqua area
    2. Tom Gerber
    3. A few years ago I received some kind help from this list looking for the birth of William Sexton born 1899 to Edward and Ann Sexton. Unfortunately I could not find him in Piqua - but I did eventually find him in Toledo. From the records there it appears Edward and Ann lived in Toledo until 1899/1900, then they apparently moved to Piqua. I am still searching to prove they were even there. They are not in the census for Toledo in 1900. It appears they may have been in Piqua after all as two additional children identified their birthplace as Piqua Ohio. They are: Reta Sexton born Feb 1, 1901 (yes - spelled with an E instead of an I) John M. (Jack) Sexton born abt. 1902 Does anyone have access to Piqua City directories that can look up Edward Sexton between 1900 and 1908? or access to the 1900 census index for Ohio?
