Several people in the past have asked about getting information on relatives that were part of the Cleveland Police Department. I have had terrific success getting information, pictures and other file information on a relative that was killed in the line of duty. The society will also help you find information on all officers. However, today was the first time that I visited the on-line memorial for officers killed in the line of duty. It is extremely nice. The link listed below is to my relative James F. Goggin, but there are links at the bottom of the page for the whole site. www.policememorialsociety.org/goggin_james.htm When I inquired several years ago, the Cleveland Fire Dept did not have anything to offer the public, but perhaps that has changed. Has anyone heard? I was originally told that all of the old records had been thrown out when the Superior/ Euclid station was rebuilt. Being in California I am not able to make contact with organizations in Cleveland very often. I'm betting that there must be something left, especially from the early days. The only records I have found of my grandfather in the fire dept. is a picture of the steam engine pulled by horses and driven by Grandfather in the Cleveland library. Cheers, Karen Goggin _________________________________________________________________ Add photos to your messages with MSN 8. Get 2 months FREE*. http://join.msn.com/?page=features/featuredemail
