    2. Sorry about that. I just assumed that since you were on the CLEVELAND IRISH list, you had some background in Cleveland and Irish geography. "The Angle" is/was an area in Cleveland which many of the Irish emigrants of the late 19th century migrated. It was quite poor but had a strong comradeship among those who lived there. Many of the Irish American descendants remain in the Greater Cleveland area. The Catholic parishes were St. Malachi, St. Patrick, St. Colman, St. Bridget and I believe there might have been one other. Not all were situated directly in the Angle area. Mayo is a county in Ireland in what is designated as the West. It is in the Republic of Ireland. Many of the emigrants from there, especially during and after the Famine of '47 settled in Cleveland. The Irish descendants in Cleveland are representative of all the Irish counties but in this particular area Mayo appears to be the predominant. However, Wexford is well represented as well.
