Vickie (and anyone else who is interested), I don't charge for lookups. I am doing my own personal research trying to find my ancestors among the Irish in Cleveland. When I started looking at the census material, I discovered that I would really have to scan through every name because of all the strange ways the census takers had of spelling and recording the information. So as long as I have to look at all the names anyway, I might as well help the rest of you out as well. I can't guarantee I'll find anything ... as I mentioned in some earlier postings, with some of the Irish people the census takers showed a certain prejudice and just recorded their last names as "Irish" or even "Irishman". I'll let you know what I find. --Janet ----- Original Message ----- From: VICKIE L KNIGHT <[email protected]> To: <[email protected]> Sent: Sunday, May 21, 2000 4:58 PM Subject: Re: 1880 Census index + more info on 1850 and 1870 census > Janet, > > I'm interested in the Hallisy name.
