Just signed on June 5 but have had no activity. Is anyone out there? My surnames on west side of Cleveland are CORCORAN, EGAN, MURPHY, RYAN, BARNES (BARRON) all from St. Malachi & St Patrick parishes. I've done extensive research and hope to connect with others. Carolyn Corcoran

Hi Carolyn, I have Egan family in Ohio. My great-uncle Joseph Henry Egan came to Cleveland Heights in the 1890s from the Boston, MA area. He was born 01 September 1878 in Cooneal, Ballysakeery Parish, Co. Mayo, Ireland. His parents were Patrick Egan and Bridget Melvin. He died 25 September 1952 in Euclid, Ohio. He married Sophia Miller about 1905 in Cleveland, OH. He had two children, Alice Rose, born 28 July 1908 and Joseph John, born 30 July 1912. Both children were born in Cleveland. Alice Rose married Ralph Buescher and Joseph John married Eleanore Weber. Joseph Henry Egan had the following siblings: John, Michael James, Peter Francis (my grandfather), Patrick William, Sarah Josephine, Mary Frances, Bridget Veronica, and Agnes Catherine. My grandfather and Patrick Wm. lived in Cleveland for a couple of years in the late 1890s. Any possible connection? Hi Carolyn: Welcome to the List. I have one Corcoran connection in my database (which consists mainly of Gallaghers)--Mary Campbell, daughter of Elizabeth (Gallagher) Campbell and Unknown Campbell, married a Corcoran (first name unknown) and had three children: Mary, Margaret and Owen. Elizabeth would have been born sometime in the 1820s or so, so Mary Campbell was born somewhere in the late 1840s or early 1850s. I have no Egan or Ryan connections, or Barnes (Barrons) from the Cleveland area, but here are my Murphys: (1) Catherine Casey, daughter of Peter and Mary (Scahill) Casey married John E. Murphy on 30 August 1920 in Lakewood. They had no children. (2) Jennie Murphy married Mike Barrett, son of Thomas and Bridget (Gallagher) Barrett, and they had four children: Dorothy, Frank, Jean and Miriam. Mike Barrett married (2) May Connelly Sheehan. Mike's parents, Thomas and Bridget, were married on Feb. 4, 1861, so Mike would have been born in the 1880s probably.
